Our story

The sweet club: 20 years downtown, woman-owned, one room.

ONE Boulder Fitness is a woman-owned club in downtown Boulder that members quietly call “the sweet club.” Karie Kerner came in as a client of Glen Marshman’s, spent two decades on this floor, and now owns the place with Kyle — who started at the front desk in 2010. One club, both owners in the building, everyone known by name.

The club raised its own owners.

Glen Marshman was Karie’s trainer. He got her into training, and over twenty years on this floor she became the person the place ran on. When Glen and Scott decided to sell on a short timeline, Karie was the one who brought everybody together — and bringing Kyle back was her idea. He’d started at this front desk in 2010, left in 2018 under owners who mostly needed bodies in the building, and came back: first to run the club, then to own it alongside her.

Neither of them was installed from outside. They inherited a gym with its soul worn thin and have spent the years since rebuilding it on purpose — no uniforms, no faces, no pressure. What they added is practical: a rebuilt recovery suite, a resident physical therapist, a resident dietitian. What they kept is the feel.

ONE is literal — we’re in ONE Boulder Plaza. It’s also the whole idea: one together, all for one.

What “sweet club” means

They know your name

The doorbell goes. Someone says “Hi, welcome in.” Then, always: “Can I offer you a towel?”

Never crowded, no gym smell

Room to actually train and a floor you’re glad to touch — the things members mention first, every time.

There’s no system for everyone

Your trainer adapts to you. Nobody hands you a six-week plan, and nobody hard-sells you anything, ever.

A trainer’s race entry paid out of pocket. Two hours at the table by the fountain. None of it is on the price list.

Come see why they call it the sweet club.

Walk in, take a towel, meet the dog. Decide afterwards.
